Scientific name..........................Rypticus bistrispinus, Looks a lot like a panther grouper. There are a couple different kinds local to our area.

Size..........................................About 4-8"

Reef safe....................................Groupers are reef safe because they do not eat corals. But they get big and can disrupt the reef set up.

Diet...........................................They will eat just about anything 1/2-3/4 there size

Compatibility.............................Gets along with almost everything that is there size or larger

How Common to this area.............Somewhat Common, They can put out a toxin when startled or upset.
